The news we read these days border the bizarre. I remember a column years ago in the Toronto Star which I liked very much, “News of the Weird”. At least their peculiar news made us laugh, a welcome change from horrible catastrophes, Economy crisis, tragedies and other nuisances or sadness that invade our houses and minds every day, almost as a routine. Things happen in a such a speed that we don’t even have time to digest and absorb one bad event, another one comes along.

Christmas morning in Canada, the sunrays were dancing and reflecting in the pristine fresh snow outside that was sparkling, looking alive and providing a spectacular show. The gorgeous winter wonderland was at its best, with Mother Nature dressing its majestic white coat.

Stop the press, incredible news just got in this week and deserve a follow up. Dr. Mitsuyuki Ikeda, a Japanese scientist from Tokyo, developed a technique to transform “sewage mud” a.k.a. human excrements in steaks. So get ready to soon see it on sale in your favorite supermarket. Perhaps will be on the same aisle where you find “smelly Tofu” and the stinky Durian fruit. This will appeal to the most demanding scatological gourmet. What is next? Pee Cola? Turd nuggets?

I was reading the comment of a CLM member about one of my articles and she said very well, at this point and time we have so much choice and so little time that is difficult sometimes to make a decision. People analyze, research, compare, dissect and compute everything. This is true for most things these days, from shopping to choosing a suitable partner.

The Philippines is really a beautiful and intriguing country in many ways, and you can not help to love the country and its friendly and happy people. The land of true proud heroes like Rizal and Lapu Lapu, that had more than their share of hardships, to include the Japanese occupation in WW II.

Well, after an exhausting trip from Toronto to Davao City, via Vancouver, Seoul in South Korea and Singapore, we can finally stretch our legs. An Australian guy next to me is very excited, he is about to meet his wife to be and I wish him the best.
